Programs

The Interfaith Round Table offers regular and annual programs designed to bring together people of diverse faith backgrounds to build relationships and deepen understanding of one another. We invite all to join these programs, regardless of faith background or interfaith experience.

Do you have an idea for a program you’d like to see or an interfaith issue you’d like us to address? Contact us to let us know.

Day Forum (monthly)

Join friends from the Interfaith Round Table for a monthly conversation on a topic of social or spiritual interest. Hosted by board members, this informal online gathering provides space for learning and connection, often facilitated by a guest speaker. Recent topics have included:

  • “Spirituality, music, and gratitude”
  • “Interfaith space sharing”
  • “Interfaith Photovoice”
  • “Sikhism: What does it mean to live in Chardi Kala (Rising Spirits) and Anand (Bliss)?”
  • “The Intercultural Community Center of Dearborn”
  • “Baha’i: The Current World and Promised Future”

Interfaith Foodies (quarterly)

Food feeds our bodies and our souls! At our Interfaith Foodies events, guest chefs share stories and teach participants how to  prepare dishes from their ethnic or cultural traditions. IRT board members facilitate interfaith conversations as we exchange reflections about the spiritual significance of gatherings around food in our respective cultures.

Watch the events calendar for upcoming Interfaith Foodies events.

Occasional Programs

Fall Gathering: the annual fall gathering, held each year on the third Sunday of November, offers a time for people of all traditions to come together for time of reflection, song, prayer, and connection.

Spring Fundraiser: IRT’s main fundraising event of the year is held in late April or early May. The event features a guest speaker, a shared meal, and time for intentional conversation.

In additional to these programs, in the past year, the IRT has co-sponsored an event with Braver Angels Washtenaw County Alliance, taken a tour of an interfaith art exhibit the University of Michigan Museum of Art, collaborated with the Interfaith Program at University of Michigan to offer an in-person introduction to Interfaith Photovoice, gathered an interfaith team for the Ann Arbor CROP Walk (raising over $1300 to fight hunger), and offered an ice cream social and community conversation about what it means to be a good neighbor in our various traditions.
