This Friends Peace Team will lead us in an interactive event on Interfaith Nonviolent Actions that Works and share interfaith practices that have strengthened their work. They work with children, parents, teachers, and communities recovering from war, colonization, and violence in Indonesia and the Philippines, and support other peace and justice workers around the world. These Quaker, Catholic, Muslim, and Mennonite Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) facilitators walk the talk:
- Petrus, Indonesia, working on interfaith collaboration, reduction of religious violence, welcoming teens and young adults to intern at a permaculture site for peace and justice training.
- Ruwaidah (Ida), Indonesia, working on interfaith and intercultural collaboration for the reduction of religious violence.
- Nanik, Indonesia, running a full inclusion, just, peaceful, regenerative preschool integrating AVP and permaculture.
- Alma (Kins) Aparece, Philippines, an environmental and human rights attorney supporting emerging leadership in people’s movements for peace and justice and communities in war such as Burma and W Papua.
- Nadine Hoover, USA, author of Creating Cultures of Peace and Walking in the World as a Friend, and editor of The Power of Goodness (CourageousGifts.com).
