DESCRIPTION:International Day of Peace: SEPTEMBER 18\, 3:00- 4:30 pm EST (Zoom) \nGuest Speaker: Peter Dougherty \nTheme: Active\, courageous nonviolence is the only way to end racism and build peace\nNonviolence is first of all the force within us that develops through hard work. It is an inner transformation from fear\, trauma\, and violence\, to wholeness – loving relationships with all people and all things\, that force is needed to build movements with strategies and tactics to confront and end racism\nInternational Day of Peace is observed around the world each year on September 21 and was established in 1981 by Resolution 36/37. The United Nations General Assembly declared this day “as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace\, both within and among all nations’ peoples.” The theme for this year’s International Day of Peace is “End racism.Build peace” \nMeet the Speaker: Peter Dougherty is a founder and a Core Member of Meta Peace Team (MPT).
