A Place Apart
This is an “invitation only” group that is geared toward religious leaders — professional, designated and lay. In this multi-religious community (and society) it is important to have a place to meet other religious leaders from different faith backgrounds and traditions. Dialogue and discussion play a central role, as does the process of getting to know other leaders on a first name basis. Many who have been doing this for a while have developed close and lasting friendships.
The aim of these forums is to create a retreat-like space where participants can “go deeper” in our interfaith conversations in a safe setting where “what is said in the room stays in the room.” We also try to spend a short time in silence at each of our meetings.
These forums are usually held the third Tuesday’s of the month (ten months of the year, no meetings in July or August) from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at various congregational sites throughout Ann Arbor.
Because involvement in these dialogue sessions are by invitation only, you can use the contact form on this web site to ask further questions or get more information from one of our Co-Directors. New attendees also need to be sponsored by a current board member.
Choices of topics and themes for dialogue arise from the group itself. Sometimes there is a topic for one session only and at other times we choose a topic for two, three or four sessions or for the fall, winter or spring.
